Niax Catalyst C-31
URETHANE ADDITIVES – RIGID FOAM
Description
NIAX Catalyst C-31 is a delayed action catalyst, used in the manufacture of rigid polyurethane and polyisocyanurate foam produced by continuous lamination or mould injection process in order to accelerate foam hardening and improve green strength and foam adhesion properties.
Key Features and Benefits
NIAX C-31 is boosting isocyanate conversion towards the end of the rise, in particular in case PIR formulations, accelerating the formation of a rigid polymer network after gelation occurs.
NIAX C-31 is particularly indicated for improving surface cure, flatness and stiffness of PIR insulation boards and metal faced panels and to generally improve the processing of PIR foams by enabling slow rise time and fast cure.
Niax C-31 can also be considered as general purpose catalyst to improve cure of PUR foam in all those condition where slow reactivity or low mould temperature tend to affect the polymer cure
The typical level of NIAX* C-31 is between 1 and 5 parts for hundred parts polyol. It can be added on top of the existing catalyst package.
Specific guidelines on application and usage of Niax C-31 can be obtained by the Momentive Technical dept. or via your local Momentive contact.
